Background
The Bachelor of Arts (Hons) Human Resource Management with Psychology programme is designed to provide students with a comprehensive understanding of people management and human behaviour in organizational settings. Students’ Admission, Progression and Graduation
An applicant must submit the following:
- A completed application form for admission and a non-refundable application fee.
- Official results slip or transcript from the student’s last school must be submitted at the time of application directly to the Academic Office.
If the student is currently enrolled in another institution, a transcript from the previous institution should be sent directly to the Director (Academic Affairs). It is the responsibility of the student to arrange for transcript(s) and/or transfer form to be mailed and to ensure that they arrive promptly. Hand delivered transcript(s) are not acceptable.
- Senior Secondary School Certificate Examination (SSSCE): Six (6) credit passes with aggregate 24 or better which include the three core subjects: English Language, Mathematics and Integrated Science or Social Studies; and any three (3) Elective subjects. All passes should be grade (A-D).
- West African Senior Secondary School Certificate Examination (WASSCE): Six (6) credit passes with aggregate 36 or better which include the three core subjects: English Language, Mathematics and Integrated Science or Social Studies; and any three (3) Elective subjects. All passes should be grade (A1-C6).
- General Certificate of Education (GCE): Passes in three (3) subjects at the (GCE) Advanced Level (at least one of the passes should be grade D or better). Also, the applicant must have had credit passes (Grade 6) in five GCE Ordinary Level subjects including English Language, Mathematics and a Science subject (for non-science students) and an Arts subject (for Science students). A pass in General Paper must also be obtained.
- Mature Student’s Entry Requirement (MSER):
- Age: At least 25 years
- Relevant professional experience and must demonstrate communication and analytical skills.
- The applicant must also pass the Mature Students’ Entrance Examination which comprises:
- General Paper (including English Language and Mathematics) for all candidates
- Special Paper to test standard of achievement in subjects relevant to programme for which candidate is seeking admission.
- Candidates must also pass an interview.
- Other Qualifications
- Candidates with the following qualifications may be admitted to level 300
- HND in a related field (first or second class pass).
- The following will be admitted to level 200
- Diploma in Human Resource Management option or Business Administration from a recognized University
- Professional certificate (e.g. CIHRM, Ghana, etc.)
- HND (below “B” average) or HND shifting from their original programme
- Foreign Applicants
To be considered for admission, applicants must have qualifications equivalent to the above. Their results must also be translated into English language, and they should be able to read and write in English. Prospective foreign applicants must also note their certificates will be sent to the Ghana Tertiary Education Council (GTEC) for evaluation and verification.
