The first Convocation Meeting for the year 2026 was held on Tuesday, 27 January, at the New Senate Room, Yankah Block, Miotso Campus. The meeting brought together Senior Members of the University, including faculty and administrative staff, to deliberate on key institutional matters and reaffirm the University’s collective commitment to academic excellence and strategic growth.

In his address, the Vice-Chancellor, Prof. Kwasi Dartey-Baah, presented a comprehensive update on the state of the University. His report highlighted significant achievements recorded over the past period, ongoing reforms, and key initiatives being implemented to advance the University’s Strategic Objectives. Prof. Dartey-Baah underscored the importance of innovation, effective governance, and stakeholder collaboration in positioning the University for sustained growth and global relevance.

The Vice-Chancellor also outlined priority focus areas for 2026, including academic quality enhancement, research and postgraduate expansion, digital transformation, infrastructure development, and staff capacity building. He called on Senior Members to remain actively engaged and aligned with the University’s vision as it navigates an increasingly competitive higher education landscape.

The meeting was chaired by Prof. Evans Sokro, Chair of Convocation, who emphasized the critical role of Convocation in fostering shared governance, institutional cohesion, and collective responsibility. He encouraged members to continue contributing meaningfully to policy dialogue and implementation in support of the University’s long-term development agenda.

The Convocation Meeting reaffirmed the University’s commitment to transparency, inclusiveness, and strategic leadership as it advances its mission of producing ethical, competent, and globally competitive graduates.
