The Vice-Chancellor, Prof. Samuel Kwasi Dartey-Baah, on Thursday, December 11, 2025, commissioned the Campus Road Improvement Project, a significant infrastructure enhancement initiative led by the Interim Management Committee (IMC) of the 2025 Students’ Representative Council (SRC).

The Vice-Chancellor, Prof. Samuel Kwasi Dartey-Baah, commended the SRC IMC for demonstrating exemplary leadership and a commitment to community improvement. He applauded the IMC for its foresight, dedication, and responsible leadership—praising the team for going beyond traditional advocacy roles to implement a project with direct, long-term impact on campus life.

Supported by University Management and the Ningo-Prampram District Assembly (NiPDA), the project demonstrates the power of collaborative leadership. It showcases how student-led ideas, when paired with institutional support and local government partnership, can translate into tangible improvements that benefit both present and future generations of CU students.

The project is expected to significantly improve mobility, safety, and the overall campus experience for students. But beyond the infrastructure itself, the project stands as a symbol of the kind of leadership CU seeks to instil—leadership that is proactive, community-centred, accountable, and solutions-driven.
University Management noted that the initiative is an exemplary reflection of responsible leadership in action. It demonstrates the maturity and commitment of CU students and underscores their readiness to contribute meaningfully wherever they find themselves.

Central University’s unwavering commitment to nurturing transformational leaders continues to shape its programmes, partnerships, and campus initiatives. The SRC-led road improvement project adds to a growing list of impactful student-driven undertakings that reinforce CU’s reputation as an institution that not only teaches leadership but actively cultivates it.

As the University looks to the future, it remains dedicated to expanding opportunities for student empowerment, community engagement, and leadership mentoring. The success of this project signals a promising trajectory—one in which CU students continue to demonstrate initiative, vision, and the capacity to effect meaningful change.
