ABOUT THE SCHOOL OF ENGINEERING & TECHNOLOGY (SET)
The School of Engineering and Technology is one of the five schools in Central University. It was established in 2018 with the aim of providing quality education in engineering and technology to meet the growing demand for skilled professionals in these fields. The school currently offers undergraduate programs in Computer Science, Information Technology, Civil Engineering, and has plans in the immediate future to begin undergraduate programs in various disciplines, including Electrical and Electronic Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, and postgraduate programs in Computer Science, Information Technology and Civil Engineering. The school is committed to fostering a culture of innovation, research, and practical learning, equipping students with the necessary skills and knowledge to excel in their careers and contribute to the development of society. With a team of experienced faculty members and state-of-the-art facilities, SET strives to create an environment that encourages creativity, critical thinking, and collaboration among students and staff. The school also emphasizes industry partnerships and community engagement, providing students with opportunities for internships, research projects, and real-world applications of their knowledge. As a relatively young school, SET has already made significant strides in establishing itself as a leading institution for engineering and technology education in Ghana and beyond, and it continues to grow and evolve to meet the changing needs of the industry and society at large.

FACILITIES & LABORATORIES
The School of Engineering & Technology (SET) is currently equipped with a computer lab that serves as a practical training space for students in the Computer Science and Information Technology departments. There is also a Civil Engineering lab that provides hands-on experience for students in that department. Additionally, the school has plans to expand its facilities and labs in the near future to accommodate the growing number of students and programs. This expansion may include the addition of specialized labs for other engineering disciplines, as well as research infrastructure to support faculty and student research activities. The school is committed to providing state-of-the-art facilities and resources to enhance the learning experience and support the academic and research endeavours of its students and faculty members.
PARTNERSHIPS – INDUSTRY AND INTERNATIONAL COLLABORATIONS
The School of Engineering & Technology (SET) has established partnerships with the Ghana Institute of Engineers (GhIE) and the Community Water and Sanitation Agency (CWSA) to enhance the academic and professional development of its students. In addition, the School has partnered with Google for student engagements and opportunities through hackathons and international conferences. Since 2025, SET is also part of Huawei Ghana’s student engagement program and partakes in their students competition programs.
