Senior Finance Officer (General Ledger and Tax Accountant)

JOB PURPOSE:The Senior Finance Officer (General Ledger and Tax Accountant) will be responsible for ensuring the accuracy and integrity of financial records across all entities of the holding company. This role encompasses managing the general ledger, overseeing tax compliance, preparing financial reports, and supporting the month-end and year-end closing processes. This position is critical to maintaining the financial health and regulatory compliance of the organization.
KEY RESPONSIBILITIES
Technical/Operations duties1.            General Ledger Management Maintain and oversee the general ledger across all subsidiaries and entities within the holding company.Post and review journal entries, ensuring accuracy and adherence to company policies.Reconcile all general ledger accounts, including cash, accounts payable, accounts receivable, and intercompany accounts, ensuring accuracy and completeness.Prepare and maintain balance sheet schedules and ensure the integrity of financial data.Monitor the accuracy and timeliness of month-end and year-end closing activities. 2. Tax Compliance and Planning Prepare and file corporate income tax, VAT, withholding tax, and other statutory returns across all jurisdictions of the holding company.Ensure compliance with tax laws, regulations, and reporting deadlines for all subsidiaries.Conduct periodic tax reconciliations and resolve discrepancies with tax authorities.Collaborate with external tax advisors or auditors to manage tax audits and address queries.Identify tax-saving opportunities and provide actionable recommendations to management. 3. Financial Reporting Prepare financial reports, including income statements, balance sheets, cash flow statements, and statements of changes in equity.Assist in the preparation of consolidated financial statements for the holding company.Support external audits by providing required documentation and addressing auditor inquiries.Ensure compliance with IFRS reporting standards. 4. Internal Controls Implement and monitor internal controls to ensure the accuracy and reliability of financial data.Identify process inefficiencies or risks and recommend improvements.Ensure the accuracy and security of financial records in accounting software and ERP systems. 5. Collaboration and Communication Coordinate with subsidiary finance teams to maintain consistency in financial reporting and tax compliance.Liaise with external consultants, tax authorities, and auditors.Provide training and support to team members on tax and accounting best practices. 6. Other Responsibilities Assist with budgeting and forecasting processes.Conduct periodic reviews of accounting processes to ensure efficiency and compliance.Perform any other tasks assigned by the Group Financial Manager.

 QualificationBachelor’s degree in Accounting or Finance.A Master’s Degree in Finance or Accounting (e.g., MBA, MSc) is desirable.Professional accounting qualification is mandatory (ACCA, CPA, ICA, CMA, or equivalent).Minimum of 5 years of accounting experience, with a focus on general ledger and tax accounting.Experience managing tax compliance across multiple jurisdictions, preferably in a holding or multinational entity.Strong knowledge of IFRS reporting standards.Proficiency in ERP systems (SAP is mandatory).
