 Established in September 2018, the School of Medicine and Health Sciences (SMHS) was from the then existing School of Applied Sciences. The mission of SMHS is to produce God-fearing professionals in diverse ways to meet the health and developmental needs of Africa and the world; while satisfying the needs of Academia, Business and Industry. The School’s Department of Physician Assistantship Studies for instance, is regarded as the first of its kind by any tertiary institution, to offer this programme at the level of awarding a bachelor’s degree, in Ghana.  

The philosophy of SMHS is to produce devout, well-grounded and well-rounded health professionals who can meet challenges of our time, serve in marginalized communities and positively influence society through selfless service.  

The School was thus, born out of the need to train leaders who will be practically and professionally informed and at the same time, spiritually and morally tuned to the total needs of society.
