Brief biographical introduction: Christopher Yaw Dumevi is a Medical Microbiologist by training and a full-time Lecturer at the School of Medicine and Health Sciences, Central University, since February 1, 2023 having served as Adjunct Faculty earlier. He is currently a PhD Candidate at the Department of Medical Microbiology at the University of Ghana Medical School, Korle-Bu, Accra where he also obtained his Master of Philosophy (MPhil) degree in Microbiology in 2017. His PhD research is on Trichomonas vaginalis drug resistance and genetic diversity. He is passionate about mentoring his students through teaching and research in the field of Medical Microbiology.
His other academic qualifications include: BSc Natural Resource Management from Kwame Nkrumah University of Science and Technology, Kumasi (2012); Postgraduate Certificate in Human Resource & Strategic Management, Graduate Training Institute, Legon – Accra (2011); Diploma in Theology from Mid-Ghana Bible College-Kumasi (now Assemblies of God Theological Seminary) in 2011; Teacher’s Cert “A’’ from Jasikan Teacher Training College (2004) and Akwamuman Secondary School near Akosombo where he studied General Science between 1998-2000.
Research Interests:
Trichomonas vaginalis pathogenesis, In vitro drug testing and resistance investigations, Neglected Tropical Parasites, Re-emerging Infectious Diseases and Antimicrobial activities of natural products.
