Ms BERYL SUNKWA-MILLS

BRIEF BIOLOGICAL INTRODUCTION

Begun her interest in law at her first degree in the University of Science and Technology (BA Law & Geography) as it was then known and had a stint on the Qualifying Certificate in Law at the University of Ghana before locating abroad with personal and family commitments. With the law background, built a career in public service, local authority and community work in England before finally committing to academics once again.

I gained an LLB, Post Graduate Diploma Legal Practice from the University of Hertfordshire and an LLM in International Law from London Metropolitan University and returned home to the Post Call Course at the Ghana Law School and called to the Bar in 2015.

After experience with the Attorney General I joined GIMPA as Coordinator of the J. E. Atta Mills Centre of Law and Governance and started private practice with Amarteifio & Co.

RESEARCH INTERESTS

With a passion for passing on knowledge, I opted to join Central University as the institution with emphasis on holistic training in Christian values and standards. My area of interest is JURISPRUDENCE and PUBLIC INTERNATIONAL LAW.  That the law in not mere rules and regulations and affected by other factors is explored in Jurisprudence and the reality that no man is an island extends beyond our borders thus the Public International.

RECENT ENGAGEMENTS

My belief in Family Values and the need for awareness in addition to academics drives my interest in the school trips to the courts and engagement with other out of school activities.
