MR. JONATHAN B. NERQUAYE-TETTEH

Jonathan B. Nerquaye-Tetteh is an architect and lecturer. He pursued his bachelor’s and master’s degree in Architecture at the Kwame Nkrumah University of Science and Technology (KNUST), Kumasi, and has also received training from Merrja Technologies, Canada for Project Management. He is a Lecturer in the School of Architecture and Design (SADe), Department of Architecture, Central University, Ghana where he has been working for over 15 years to promote the knowledge and practice of architecture. He teaches Architectural Design Studio (B.Arch. Programme, final year), studio-related courses in the SADe’s Interior Design programme.

His research interests include architecture and urban design, built environments, and biophilic and green architecture. He has also collaborated with researchers in the fields of architecture and housing. Publications include a book chapter; Gyasi-Addo, J.A. &; Nerquaye-Tetteh, J. (2022) ‘Assessing urban heat island in the Central business district of Accra-a methodology’ in Sakhare, D.T & Munjal, N., Advances in Multidisciplinary Research and Development (Vol. 4). Other research areas include ‘Integrating biophilic design in primary educational buildings in Ghana’, and ‘Architecture Design Studio Culture and learning spaces: a holistic approach to the Design and Planning of Learning Facilities’.

Jonathan has served on various university boards and committees at Central University. He was Head of, Department of Architecture (2012-2013) and a past Patron of the Architectural Student Association of Ghana (CU-ASAG).  He is an associate member of the Ghana Institute of Architects and has previously worked for DKA Consult and NERQTA Consultancy. He has also contributed to the community by holding leadership and membership positions in various Christian and neighbourhood organisations. Jonathan is a husband and father of two, and he enjoys engaging in art and crafts.
