Ms. Miriam Tagoe is a dedicated academic and researcher with over seven years of experience in teaching, pharmaceutical microbiology research, and clinical herbal medicine practice. She is a Lecturer in the Department of Pharmaceutical Sciences at Central University, where she contributes to curriculum development, student mentorship, and departmental leadership. She has served as Chief Invigilator and currently holds the role of Departmental Examination Officer, demonstrating her strong commitment to academic quality and institutional service.
Miriam holds a BSc in Herbal Medicine and an MPhil in Pharmaceutical Microbiology, and she is currently pursuing a PhD in Pharmaceutical Microbiology at Kwame Nkrumah University of Science and Technology. Her research focuses on antimicrobial resistance, anthelminthic activity, and the pharmacological evaluation of medicinal plants. She has published widely in peer-reviewed journals on COVID-19, helminth infections, and traditional medicine.
She is an active member of the academic community, serving as a peer reviewer for the Journal of Tropical Medicine and presenting at major conferences, including the 2024 IPSF AfRO Research-a-thon and the OWSD Ghana Chapter Conference. Through her teaching, research, and professional service, she continues to contribute meaningfully to pharmaceutical sciences and public health in Ghana.
