The General Management MBA programme provides learners with a balanced insight into the challenges of managing businesses. The modern day manager needs to have a broad understanding of the various functions within an organisation in order to effectively meet organisational goals and objectives.
In addition to this, the rapid expansion of international trade means suppliers; customers and work colleagues are much more likely to work within a multicultural working environment. This in turn, requires a different set of skills to be able to manage both effectively and efficiently.
Key Objectives
The aim of the Programme is to offer a learning environment intended to develop high-calibre and transformational Management professionals equipped with the requisite skills as strategic partners in managerial and executive decision-making and also provide practical solutions to complex Management issues in the corporate environment.
It also aims at developing globally-oriented Management professionals who appreciate best international Management practices that have relevance to local and global corporate environments.
Key objectives for students include:
• Apply strategic decision making skills and develop the ability to work towards policy formulation and implementation;
• Offer management consultancy services to businesses;
• Understand the global business environment and best management practices and advise management on contextualizing relevant aspects of these practices in their respective organisations and
• Apply knowledge and understanding of organisations, businesses and management to solve complex issues both systematically and creatively whilst improving business and management practices.

Completion of the General Management MBA programme provides a means of improving career prospects which may be achieved through promotion with an existing employer, enhancing prospects with alternative employers or providing skills which may assist in making a career change.
With the right economic fundamentals and fueled by petroleum production, Ghana’s economy has the potential to grow during the next decade. Entry Requirements
An applicant seeking admission to an MBA degree programme must:
a. Have obtained a good first degree (at least a Second Class Lower) or its equivalent in an appropriate field of study from a recognized University.
b. Satisfy any additional requirements prescribed by the faculties/departments. These may include relevant work experience, a written entrance examination and an interview.
c. An applicant who possesses a first degree in the Third Class Division or a Pass and who has at least three years’ work experience may also be considered for admission into the Taught Master’s degree Programme. Such applicants may be required to take preparatory courses and pass written examinations and an interview before being considered for admission.
