iBASIS EMPOWERS NEEDY STUDENTS WITH LAPTOP DONATIONS

Earlier this month, a leading communications service provider based in the USA, iBASIS donated 10 laptop computers to support needy students through #CUcare, a Student Care and Emergency Response Fund manned by the University’s Counselling and Career Services Centre (CCSC) – a significant display of corporate social responsibility.

At a brief presentation at the Miotso Campus, Mrs. Stella Etse, the Ag. Director for CCSC emphasized the transformative power of the use of technological tools for today’s higher education. “We are grateful to iBASIS for this support in meeting a critical need of some of our students” she expressed. “We use this opportunity to call on others to also contribute to CUcare in any way they can. The need is great” she further added.

Ten students carefully selected from different schools and departments received a laptop computer each. This generous gesture by iBASIS and their collaboration with CUcare exemplifies the positive impact businesses can have on society. The donation empowers students to pursue their dreams and build a brighter future for themselves and their communities.

“Thank you for the incredible gift of the laptop. Your generosity is truly appreciated and I’m so grateful for your thoughtfulness. This laptop is going to be such a game-changer for me. It’s going to make my work easier and more efficient…” expressed one of the beneficiaries.

Present at the presentation were some parents of the beneficiaries as well as some staff of the University.
