Programme Overview
Nurse Assistant Clinical (NAC) or Health Assistant Clinical (HAC) seeking to upgrade your qualification and progress in your nursing career? This is your opportunity to transition into professional nursing through our 3-year BSc. Nursing Top-Up Programme.
This programme is specifically structured to support experienced nurse assistants in attaining a Bachelor of Science (BSc) in Nursing while developing advanced clinical competence, academic excellence, professional leadership, and critical decision-making skills required in modern healthcare practice.
RATIONALE
The BSc Nursing Top-Up Programme is a comprehensive academic and clinical training programme designed to upgrade the professional competencies of NAC and HAC practitioners to meet the standards expected of degree-qualified nurses.
The programme builds on your practical experience and strengthens your theoretical knowledge, preparing you to provide quality, evidence-based, and patient-centred care across hospitals, clinics, community health settings and specialised healthcare environment.
ENROLLMENT
To qualify for consideration under the Nursing Access Course Entry route, an applicant must meet the following conditions:
Applicants who are Nurse Assistants (Clinical) / Health Assistants (Clinical) must:
- Have completed WASSCE, Nurse Assistant / Health Assistant Clinical training at an accredited institution
- Have passed the Nursing and Midwifery Council (NMC) licensing examination
- Be duly registered with the Nursing and Midwifery Council of Ghana and possess a valid AIN (Auxiliary Identification Number)
- Must have at least three (3) years post-qualification working experience
Applicants must provide evidence of their AIN number, registration certificate, and work experience during the admission process.

ADMISSION REQUIREMENT
Successful candidates are required to attend lectures and attain a pass mark of 50% or higher in all five courses. Additionally, they are required to provide all necessary documentation and, where applicable, pass an interview to gain admission to the BSc. Nursing Programme.
