Professor ADELAIDE NAA AMERLEY KASTNER – a distinguished academic with a remarkable career trajectory that spans multiple fields. Prof. Kastner’s association with Central University began in September 2016 following an impressive journey of service and leadership.
Since 2017, Prof. Adelaide Kastner has served as the Ag. Dean of the Central Business School (CBS), a position she continues to hold. As the Dean, she has played a pivotal role in shaping the strategic vision of CBS, fostering innovation, and nurturing the next generation of business leaders. She is the immediate past Chairman of Convocation and now the Representative of Convocation (Professorial category) on the University Council.
From 2016 to 2018, she was the Head of Department for Management and Public Administration. Following her successful tenure in that role, she was appointed the Ag. Head for the Marketing Department from 2018 to 2019. In this capacity, she demonstrated her deep understanding of the diverse facets of academia, further solidifying her reputation as an accomplished academic leader. The Central University Business Students’ Association was established under her leadership.
Beyond her academic responsibilities, Professor Kastner’s commitment to community and nation-building is evident through her involvement in various organizations. She once served as the Board Chairman of @Ghana Immigration Service, where her visionary leadership contributed to enhancing the efficiency and effectiveness of the service. Additionally, she held the position of Chairperson of the Advisory Council of World Vision Ghana, where she championed the cause of vulnerable children and deprived communities, leaving a lasting impact on their lives.
Her dedication to the promotion of education and literacy is further underscored by her role as a Council Member of the The Bible society of Ghana. Currently, Professor Kastner is the Council Chairperson of the Ghana Christian University College.
As a person of faith, Professor Kastner is deeply rooted in her Christian beliefs. Her commitment to fostering harmony and peace within her religious community led to her appointment as one of the Peace Ambassadors for the Presbyterian Church of Ghana during the electioneering year of 2020.
Notably, Professor Kastner’s influence extends beyond her immediate academic and religious circles. As the National President of the Accra Girls’ Old Students Association (AGOSA), she plays a crucial role in promoting networking, empowerment, and collaboration among the alumni of Accra Girls’ Senior High School.
Professor Adelaide Kastner‘s journey in academia started in1996 at the University of Ghana. Over the years her remarkable academic achievements, visionary leadership, and enduring contributions to education and nation-building continue to inspire both her peers and students alike.
