PROFESSOR ADELAIDE KASTNER

Dr. Adelaide Kastner doubles asthe Acting Dean of Central Business School and the Head of Department of Management and Public Administration. She comes with a rich teaching and administrative experience. Prior to her engagement at Central University, she worked as a Senior Lecturer at the University of Ghana Business School from 1996 to 2017, teaching a diversity of courses in Marketing, and supervised hundreds of Master of Philosophy theses and several Doctoral theses. She served the University as a students’ academic adviser for many years and, was the Head of the Department of Marketing at the University of Ghana Business School from 2004 to 2008. Since 2009, she has lectured on Leadership during the May School of the Presbyterian Church of Ghana.Since 2012, she has beenengaged as Adjunct Lecturer at the Trinity Theological Seminary, Legon. She has served as external examiner to the Department of Marketing at the University of Cape Coast since 2006.

Besides her academic work, Dr. Kastner served on a number of boards and committees at the University of Ghana. She wasthe Chairman of the Student-Faculty Consultative Committeefor several years. Outside of the University community, from 2012 to 2014, she chaired the Ghana Immigration Service Board. From 2009 to 2017, she was a member of the Tariff Advisory Board of Ghana’s Ministry of Trade and Industry. She was the Chairman of the Advisory Council of World Vision International in Ghana from 2012 to 2017. Currently, she is the Chairman of Council of Ghana Christian University College, and a Council member of Bible Society of Ghana.

Dr. Kastner obtained a Doctorate Degree in International Business from Aalborg University in Denmark in 2003. Besides, she holds a Bachelor of Science degree in Business Administration (Management) and a Master’s degree in Business Administration (Marketing), both obtained from the University of Ghana, Legon.

Dr. Adelaide Kastner is a lay preacher; and has facilitated severalseminars and workshops in Christianity, as well as marketing and related areas.

RESEARCH INTERESTS

Research interests include Sustainable Competitive Strategy, International Business, Export Development, and Marketing.
