Dr. Joseph Amoah-Nyako, currently the Dean for the School of Architecture and Design at Central University is a Chartered Member of the Royal Institute of British Architects (RIBA), an Associate of the Ghana Institute of Architects (AGIA), holds a PhD in Architecture from Oxford Brookes University, UK, where he specialized in Hospital Design. He also holds an MA in Interior Design, from the School of Industrial Design at De Montfort University, Leicester. UK. He is a product of the School of Architecture, Kwame Nkrumah University of Science and Technology with a BSc in Design and a Post Graduate Diploma in Architecture and was awarded the Frank Lloyd Wright prize for Best Thesis Design for the Asantehene Manhyia Palace, Kumasi.

Dr. Amoah-Nyako taught and supervised students in Architecture, Interior and Industrial Design up to MPhil/PhD level as a Senior Lecturer at Luton University Department of Art and Design Prior to this, he was a lecturer at the Graduate School of Design and Manufacture at De Montfort University in Leicester, UK, mainly supervising Masters and MPhil/PhD theses. He also taught for a couple of years as a Lecturer in the Department of Architecture, Kwame Nkrumah University of Science and Technology (KNUST), Kumasi, Ghana before going abroad for further studies. He has considerable administrative, teaching and academic skills as he has over the years served on numerous university working and other committees.

Dr. Amoah-Nyako has worked with several private architectural practices and public institutions and has considerable experience in Design, Contract Administration, Project Management of Hospitals and Health Care Buildings, Educational Buildings as well as Residential Housing with significant value contracts. 

 Dr. Amoah-Nyako is a keen sportsman, who plays basketball, cricket and tennis in addition to photography and fishing as his hobbies. He is also a trustee for two UK-based charities PapasGarden, and Praise Prayer and Deliverance Ministries. His greatest passion is empowering others to succeed in all walks of life.
