DR. MRS. EUNICE ADU-DARKO


Profile

Dr. Eunice Adu-Darko is a development finance economist and senior lecturer in finance and banking at Central University, Ghana where she has worked as a faculty member for over 15 years. She is the Director for the Centre for Distance and Professional Education and immediate past head of the department of finance and banking. Eunice currently chairs the university examination committee.  She’s also a member of the Institutional Visitations Team of the Ghana Tertiary Education Commission. She has a PhD in development finance from London, UK, a masters in international finance from Middlesex University, UK, and a BA in Economics with Statistics from the University of Ghana. Dr. Adu-Darko is a researcher and has several publications in quality journals including Structural Change and Economic Dynamics, Journal of Rural Studies, Resources Policy and the Journal of Financial Regulation and Compliance. She has presented papers at international and local conferences and seminars and is currently the subject lead editor in economics and business for Social Science and Humanities Open (SSHO) journal. She also serves as an editorial board member for World Development Sustainability and the International Journal of Emerging Markets.

Eunice has been part of several international research consultancies and projects including Digital Transformation for Sustainable Development in Ghana with Afri-Consult, Ghana which was funded by Deutsche Gesellschaft für Internationale Zusammenarbeit (GIZ) GmbH in 2024. Her research and teaching interests include but is not limited to development economics, financial sector development, institutional framework of economies and organisations, macroeconomics, financial management, money and banking, monitoring and evaluation, quantitative techniques in finance and corporate finance. Eunice’s teaching cuts across undergraduate, masters and PhD levels.  Eunice is well versed in the use of statistical and econometric analytical tools such as EVIEWS, STATA, SPSS and Gauss. She is certified and has extensive experience in online course design and facilitation. Eunice is a chartered administrator and management consultant. She was a trainer of trainers and programmes coordinator for Central University’s Centre for Online and Distance Education.  She has also played a lead role in the development of new programmes and courses at the PhD and master’s level. Eunice’s work at the University has included lecturing, research and publications, academic counselling, chief invigilator, training faculty, departmental head and committee membership. She has outstanding organisational skills, is focused, passionate, diligent, a leader and an excellent team player. Dr. Adu-Darko is fluent in both English, French and four Ghanaian languages, has excellent computer skills and enjoys community service.
