Denise Diana Duncan is a lecturer at the Department of Communications and Media Studies, Central University, Ghana. She holds BA (hons) in Sociology and an MPhil in Communication Studies from the University of Ghana. She also holds a PHD in Communication Science from the University of South Africa. She has research interests in all disciplines of communications management such as organisational communications, strategic integrated communication, Public Relations, cooperative education. She has previous corporate experience from the banking sector as well as higher education sectors in customer service, marketing and public relations. Other areas of interest are information and media literacy, technical and vocational education, religion and technology and teacher-student dynamics.
She is the co-founder of Skills for Change –Ghana a non-governmental organisation that has hope in the technical and vocational prospects in Ghana and has a vision to inspire the youth in developing their skillset to meet present and future labour market needs of the world. She is also a member of an international research team (Organisational & Research Culture of African Universities) investigating the organisational research culture issues in African Universities. Other team members include scholars from Nigeria, South Africa, Uganda, Kenya, and Zimbabwe.
She is the lead consultant at Rouge Consult, a consultancy that provides communication solutions for organisations in the area of advertising, business rebranding, public relations auditing, public relations research and social media management. Aside research, she has also been involved in other public relations activities such as event planning, personal and corporate image management, drafting of communication and public relation strategies, and evolving mechanisms and strategies to help build and sustain brands.
