CENTRAL UNIVERSITY’S FIRST REGISTRAR LAID TO REST

Over the weekend, the late Rev. Dr. Johnson E. Kanda, Registrar of Central University from 1998 to 2008, was laid to rest in his hometown Peki Blengo. He was 82.

Dr. Kanda was the first Chief Administrator of the University, and is credited with the initial work of drafting and putting together almost all the documentations needed for the smooth take-off of the Central University’s administration.

In July 2009, the University Council voted for the first academic block (Block A) on the sMiotso campus to be named the “Kanda Block” in recognition of Rev. Dr. Johnson Kanda’s meritorious and dedicated service to the University in its budding years.

Members of Staff were present at the funeral to mourn with the family as they bid a final good bye to their beloved.Following his internment is a thanksgiving service to be held on 29th January in Accra.

Dr. Kanda may be gone, but his legacy at Central University continues to live on!
