Central University has reaffirmed its commitment to internationalisation and academic excellence through the successful deployment of students and staff under the Erasmus+ Programme (KA171), a key initiative aimed at enhancing global exposure and cross-cultural learning.

Facilitated by the University’s International Programmes Office (IPO), the exchange is sponsored through the Erasmus+ KA171 programme in partnership with the Malta Institute of Leadership. The collaboration underscores Central University’s strategic focus on building strong international academic partnerships that promote student mobility, knowledge exchange, and global engagement.

As part of the programme, eight students were competitively selected and deployed to Malta to participate in a high-impact academic and professional exchange. The cohort represents a diverse mix of disciplines, including Nursing, Information and Communication Technology (ICT), Central Business School (CBS), and Communication Studies. Their participation reflects the University’s vision of producing globally competitive graduates equipped with practical international experience and cross-cultural competencies.

Supporting the students during the exchange is Ms. Splendy McCauley, Senior Assistant Registrar and Faculty Officer for the School of Pharmacy, who is serving as chaperone. In this role, she provides oversight of student activities, ensuring their welfare and guiding them through their academic and professional engagements. She is also responsible for monitoring their progress and ensuring that all responsibilities are executed in line with Central University’s academic standards.

The programme features a structured academic schedule designed to integrate theory with practice. Key areas of study include leadership in multicultural organisations, cultural perspectives in organisations, the psychology of multicultural environments, and the application of artificial intelligence techniques for global research. In addition, students are participating in fieldwork and company visits, offering valuable insights into real-world multicultural dynamics.

These experiences are intentionally designed to equip students with critical global skills such as adaptability, collaboration, cultural intelligence, and professional awareness. By engaging in both academic and experiential learning, participants are gaining a well-rounded perspective that enhances their personal and professional development.

Early reports from Malta indicate that the students are actively engaged in both academic and cross-cultural activities, representing Central University with distinction and excellence.

Central University’s participation in the Erasmus+ KA171 programme highlights its ongoing commitment to global education and student transformation. Through structured academic engagement, dedicated supervision, and immersive international exposure, the University continues to position itself as a leader in international higher education.

The institution remains steadfast in its mission to develop graduates who are not only academically accomplished but also globally relevant and culturally adaptable, ready to thrive in an increasingly interconnected world.
