A warm congratulations! to Messrs Joel Jojo Osam Mensah and Dinko Abdul Nasir, students from the School of Architecture and Design (SADe) for winning 1st Place and 2nd Place respectively at the Third Annual Excellence in Design (EDGE) Student Design Competition organised by the International Finance Corporation (IFC), the private sector arm of the World Bank Group.
This success by Joel and Dinko is not only a testament to the quality of training offered by CU’s School of Architecture and Design (SADe). It is also historic, as the ultimate winners of the competition since it was instituted in 2019 have all been CU-trained student architects.
The year’s competition, officially launched in May, took on a significant turn. Seven students from Central University made it to the top ten. The other entries were from Kwame Nkrumah University of Science and Technology (KNUST) and the Kumasi Technical University (KTU) students.
As part of their reward package for winning 1st Place and 2nd Place at the 2024 IFC EDGE Competition, Mr. Joel Jojo Osam Mensah and Mr. Dinko Abdul Nasir have both earned a fully paid trip to attend the Green Building Conference in Capetown, South Africa.
