On Monday, 16th February 2026, Central University held the third edition of its Conversation with CU Distinguished Alumni series as part of the Orientation Programme for freshers. The initiative continues to grow into a meaningful University tradition—intentionally connecting current students with accomplished alumni whose journeys began on the same campus and whose achievements now serve as inspiration and guidance for the next generation.

This edition featured an exceptional panel of alumni drawn from diverse professional fields: Dr. (Pharm) Heidi Boateng MA, PharmD, Senior Computer System Validation & Assurance Consultant at Senan Group, USA; Mr. Gideon Hammond, Deputy Director-General of the National Sports Authority; and Ms. Vicentia Edem Ndah, Administrator of Dosty Pharmacy Co. Ltd..

Through candid reflections and practical insights, the speakers revisited their student experiences and shared how their time at Central University shaped their professional trajectories. They highlighted the role of academic rigour, mentorship, discipline, and faith-based values in strengthening their leadership capacity and refining their sense of purpose. Their stories underscored the importance of intentional growth, resilience, and the courage to embrace opportunities beyond one’s comfort zone.

Freshers actively engaged the panel with thoughtful and probing questions, creating a dynamic and interactive exchange that extended well beyond prepared remarks. The session was moderated by Evans A. Adu-Gyamfi, Alumni Relations Officer, who steered the discussion toward actionable lessons to help students maximise their university journey from the very beginning.

Following the event, the alumni paid a courtesy visit to the Vice-Chancellor, Prof. Kwasi Dartey-Baah, and members of Management for a brief interaction focused on strengthening alumni engagement. Discussions centred on ongoing efforts to enhance the alumni experience, deepen institutional connections, and develop a more structured and supportive network for graduates of the University.

The Conversation with CU Distinguished Alumni series continues to affirm a powerful truth: the Central University experience does not end at graduation—it matures into impact, leadership, and lifelong excellence. Through sustained engagement between past and present students, the University remains committed to nurturing transformational leaders whose influence extends far beyond the classroom.
