The Central Law School of Central University has officially launched its Pre-Bar Course, marking a significant milestone in the University’s commitment to expanding access to quality legal education under Ghana’s new legal education regime. The official launch took place on Friday, 10 July 2026, at the University’s Kumasi Campus at Ayigya, Kumasi.
Delivering the vision address, the Dean of the Central Law School, Professor Kenneth Agyeman Attafuah, outlined the vision behind the Central Pathway to Becoming a Lawyer, emphasizing the University’s commitment to providing an accessible, rigorous, and practice-oriented route to legal education in line with the newly enacted Legal Education Act, 2026 (Act 1170).
The event was graced by the Guest of Honour, Otumfuo Anantahene, Baffour Agyei Twitwiakwa II, who, in his private capacity, is the Senior Partner of Moomin & Botta Solicitors, Kumasi.
The launch also provided an interactive platform for students and prospective students to engage with the University’s leadership, ask questions, and seek clarification on the opportunities and implications of the newly enacted Legal Education Act, 2026 (Act 1170).
The Vice-Chancellor of Central University, Professor Kwasi Dartey-Baah, delivered the keynote address on the Central Pathway to Becoming a Lawyer, highlighting the University’s readiness to contribute meaningfully to legal education in Ghana. He subsequently led the official launch and unveiling of the Pre-Bar Course.
Also in attendance were the Registrar of Central University, Mrs. Lily Nutakor; the Director of Academic and Student Services, Mrs. Ruth Afful; the Director of the Kumasi Campus, Dr. Doris Yalley; faculty members of the Central Law School; staff of the Kumasi Campus; students; and other distinguished guests.
