On 18th May 2026, students and faculty of the Central Business School (CBS) undertook an educational visit to Olam Agri Ghana as part of the School’s commitment to strengthening industry exposure and practical learning experiences for students.

The visit provided students with a valuable opportunity to engage directly with professionals in the agribusiness sector and gain first-hand insight into the operational systems and supply chain processes of one of Ghana’s leading agri-food companies. Through interactive sessions and guided engagements, students deepened their understanding of how classroom theories and academic concepts are applied within a dynamic business environment.

Key highlights of the visit included interactions with industry experts on real-world agribusiness practices, exposure to operational and supply chain management systems, and discussions on innovation, sustainability, and food security within the agricultural sector.

During the visit, students were introduced to the extensive operations of Olam Agri Ghana, a company with a strong presence across sourcing, processing, storage, and exportation of agricultural products. Participants also learned about the company’s robust farmer network, commitment to quality assurance, and its contribution to food production and distribution in Ghana and beyond.

Particular attention was drawn to the company’s state-of-the-art wheat mill in Tema, recognised as the largest in the country, where market-leading flour products are processed and fortified to meet both Ghanaian and Francophone nutritional standards. The engagement further highlighted the importance of innovation, sustainable business practices, and strategic partnerships in driving growth within the agribusiness sector.

The educational visit forms part of Central Business School’s broader efforts to bridge the gap between academic learning and industry practice by exposing students to real-world business operations and professional environments. The experience not only enhanced students’ practical understanding of agribusiness and supply chain management but also inspired meaningful conversations on sustainability, entrepreneurship, and leadership in the global food and agriculture industry.

Central University remains committed to providing transformative learning opportunities that equip students with the knowledge, skills, and practical exposure needed to thrive in today’s competitive and evolving professional landscape.
