Bernice is a social work and psychology lecturer/researcher who is a strong ally and advocate in the push for mental health and disability support in Ghana. She has 14 years of teaching continuing, mature and professional students. She is a qualified mental health professional in Oregon, USA, and a registered social worker in Ghana. She holds a PhD in Development Studies, an MPhil in Social Work and a Bachelor of Arts in Psychology and Social Work (2008) at the University of Ghana.
She also has industry experience, as she worked as a social work counsellor in some non-governmental organizations. Bernice’s current research centres on mental health and wellbeing, disabilities, child welfare, ageing, and community and rural development strategies. Her PhD thesis on farmer mental health in Ghana has helped to bring the issue into the mainstream spotlight.
