BACHELOR OF ARTS IN THEOLOGY
The Theology programme is dedicated to the study of Theology and to the practical application of Theological understanding. Theological study is grounded in the scriptures, the sure and solid authority of the Christian faith, and is concerned to express this faith in a coherent system of truth.
It reflects the understanding of the traditions of the past, and shows an awareness of the needs of the present and the future. Further, it sets out to preserve what is genuine within the historic experience, while being open to what may be new in Christ’s spirit.
Key Outcomes
• Develop razor sharp logical analyses of theological concepts
• A thorough understanding and appreciation of theological concepts, and the ability to translate this understanding into action for the greater good of humankind.
• Transformational leaders who will employ their biblical understanding to assist in the growth and development of the Christian community, the Church.
Real-World Application
As Theological study fundamentally relates to divinity – nature of God and belief systems of religions, it offers a higher perspective on the ideas, values, debates and beliefs that defines today’s socio-religious scope. Theology is not the sole preserve of the clergy and seminarians since it has a broader applicability to the deep-seated issues of life.
It is critical to understanding, explaining, testing, critiquing, defending or promoting religious subjects. The University seeks to make Theological studies even more accessible to a wider audience by introducing Sandwich programme, Strategic Theological Education for Ministers, Centre for Advanced Pastoral Studies and Executive Diploma in Theology.
