seeking a skilled and detail-oriented Accountant to join our team.
OVERVIEW OF ROLE
The Accountant will be responsible for managing the financial activities of the company and ensuring
accurate and timely recording of transactions. His/ her primary focus will be on maintaining financial
records, preparing financial statements, and providing valuable insights to support strategic
decision-making. The Accountant’s expertise in accounting principles, attention to detail, and ability to
analyze financial data will be essential to the success of our global expansion efforts. S/he will also
manage a team of accounting professionals to achieve set objectives.
RESPONSIBILITIES AND DUTIES
Financial Reporting and Analysis:
● Prepare monthly, quarterly, and annual financial statements, including balance sheets, income
statements, and cash flow statements.
● Conduct financial analysis to identify trends, variances, and opportunities for improvement.
● Monitor key financial metrics and provide insights to support decision-making processes.
● Prepare and submit required financial reports to regulatory authorities.
General Accounting and Bookkeeping:
● Maintain accurate and up-to-date financial records, including accounts payable, accounts
receivable, and general ledger.
● Perform regular bank and account reconciliations to ensure accuracy of financial data.
● Process invoices, expense claims, and other financial transactions.
● Ensure compliance with accounting principles and internal policies.
Budgeting and Forecasting:
● Collaborate with management to develop annual budgets and financial forecasts.
● Monitor actual performance against budgeted targets and provide variance analysis.
● Assist in the preparation of periodic forecasts and projections.
● Identify opportunities for cost savings and efficiency improvements.
Tax Compliance:
● Ensure compliance with tax laws and regulations, including timely filing of tax returns and
remittance of taxes.
● Assist in tax planning and provide guidance on tax implications of business decisions.
● Liaise with external tax advisors and regulatory authorities as required.
Internal Controls and Process Improvement:
● Implement and maintain strong internal controls to safeguard company assets and ensure the
integrity of financial data.
● Identify areas for process improvement and implement streamlined procedures.
● Collaborate with cross-functional teams to optimize financial and operational processes.
QUALIFICATIONS
● Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field (Professional certification such as
ACCA, ICA, is a plus).
● Proven experience as an Accountant or in a similar role, preferably in the fashion or retail industry
or a production firm.
● Strong knowledge of accounting principles, financial reporting standards, and tax regulations.
● Proficiency in using accounting software and tools (e.g., QuickBooks, Xero, spreadsheets).
● Excellent analytical and problem-solving skills, with keen attention to detail.
● Ability to work independently, prioritize tasks, and meet deadlines.
● Strong written and verbal communication skills.
● Familiarity with international accounting standards and multi-currency transactions is a plus.
