FACULTY FOCUS- Dr. Marian Tsegah

Let’s introduce you to Dr. Marian Tsegah, a senior faculty member at Central University’s Department of Communication and Media Studies and a member of the Advertising Association of Ghana.

Dr. Tsegah’s expertise is in the fields of Advertising and Gender Studies. As a researcher and educator, she brings a wealth of knowledge and passion to her role, inspiring students and colleagues alike, especially when she served as the Head of Department between 2017 and 2019.

Driven by a passion for education, Dr. Tsegah began her teaching career in 1995 at the renowned 31st December Women’s Day Care Centre in Teshie, Accra. She is a product of University of Sussex, Brighton, UK where she obtained her Doctoral Degree in Media and Gender Studies, and also holds MPhil in Communication Studies from the University of Ghana, Legon; and BA in English from the University of Cape Coast.

As a researcher, Dr. Tsegah’s interests are reflected in some of her most recent works: Computer Mediated Communication, Usage and Perceptions Among the Rural Elderly; SMS Advertisements and Purchasing Intentions; Participation in Online Activation Campaigns, and Establishing Relevance of Cooperative Education in Ghana which are published in the European Scientific Journal, University of Sussex Journal among others top tier journals.

As part of her community service, she serves as the Vice President of Endless Possibilities and Hope Development Organization, an NGO for Youth Development where Marian impacts the next generation of transformational leaders; a value we uphold here at Central University.
