Central University hosted its first cohort of candidates at its newly certified Nursing and Midwifery Council (NMC) Licensure Examination Centre, marking a significant milestone in the University’s commitment to excellence in health education.

From April 20 to 22, 2026, a total of 105 students from the School of Nursing and Midwifery sat for the Registered General Nursing (RGN) Licensure Examinations at the University’s Miotso campus. This historic moment represents not only an academic achievement but also a deeply meaningful, full-circle experience for the candidates—many of whom began their journey as BSc Nursing students on the same campus and returned to complete this critical professional milestone.

The hosting of the examinations follows the official certification of the Central University Nursing and Midwifery Council Licensure Examination Centre by the Nursing and Midwifery Council of Ghana. This certification affirms the University’s capacity to deliver secure, efficient, and high-quality computer-based professional examinations, supported by robust infrastructure, advanced technology, and strong administrative systems.

The designation of Central University as an official licensure examination centre underscores the growing confidence reposed in the institution by national regulatory bodies. It further reinforces the University’s reputation as a credible and trusted partner in the training, assessment, and certification of healthcare professionals in Ghana.

By providing a seamless and supportive examination environment, Central University continues to play a vital role in shaping the next generation of nurses, contributing meaningfully to national healthcare delivery and development. This milestone also reflects the University’s unwavering commitment to producing competent, ethical, and highly skilled practitioners equipped to meet the evolving demands of the healthcare sector.

As the University celebrates this achievement, it extends its congratulations to the 105 candidates for reaching this important stage in their professional journey and wishes them continued success as they complete their BSc. Nursing training.
