Central University officially ushered in its 2025/2026 freshmen with a comprehensive four-day Orientation Programme designed to equip new students with the knowledge, resources, and inspiration needed for a successful academic journey.
Held from Monday, 16th February to Thursday, 19th February 2026, the Orientation brought together University Management, Faculty, Administrative Staff, Student Leaders, and Distinguished Alumni to warmly welcome the newest members of the Central University community.

Understanding the Academic Environment
The opening day focused on laying a strong academic foundation for freshmen.

University officials took students through key Academic Policies and Regulations, detailing expectations regarding registration procedures, course selection, and examination guidelines. The session ensured that students clearly understood academic standards, grading systems, and institutional requirements necessary for progression.

A highlight of the day was the Conversation with Distinguished Alumni, where accomplished graduates shared their journeys from lecture halls to leadership positions in their respective fields. The session encouraged students to embrace excellence, discipline, and innovation from the onset of their academic careers.
Further sessions addressed Student Assessment and Quality Assurance, emphasizing the University’s commitment to academic integrity and continuous improvement. The day concluded with a comprehensive Student Services Overview, introducing freshmen to support units available to enhance their campus experience.
Student Support, Welfare and Global Exposure
The second day centered on student support systems and personal development.

Sessions on Academic Advising clarified how students can work closely with faculty advisors to make informed academic decisions. The Finance Directorate addressed Financial Obligations, guiding students through fee structures, payment timelines, and financial planning. Representatives from partner financial institutions provided insights into Student Banking, helping freshmen understand available banking services tailored to students.

Critical conversations were held on Sexual Harassment Prevention and Safety on Campus, reinforcing the University’s zero-tolerance policy and commitment to providing a secure learning environment.
Students were also introduced to International Study Opportunities, highlighting exchange programmes and global partnerships that broaden academic and cultural horizons.
An interactive session with the Dean of Students and the Students’ Representative Council (SRC) provided freshmen with an opportunity to engage leadership, ask questions, and better understand student governance.

The day concluded with a guided Library and Resource Centre Tour, familiarizing students with academic resources, research support services, and study facilities.
Personal Growth and Holistic Development
In line with Central University’s commitment to holistic education, Day Three focused on personal and professional development.
The Counselling and Career Services Unit introduced students to mental health support systems, career guidance programmes, internship pathways, and employability training.

Officials from the Student Loan Trust Fund (SLTF) educated students on available financial aid options, eligibility criteria, and application processes.
The session on Spiritual Formation reaffirmed the University’s Christian ethos, encouraging students to grow not only intellectually but also spiritually, cultivating character, leadership, and integrity.
Leadership, Engagement and Digital Readiness
The final day emphasized leadership, civic responsibility, and digital empowerment.
Freshmen participated in the Nomination of Class Representatives and Leaders, marking their first active involvement in student leadership and democratic processes on campus.
Representatives from the Social Security and National Insurance Trust (SSNIT) educated students on social security contributions and the importance of long-term financial planning.
The Office of Student Affairs showcased various Student Clubs and Associations, encouraging students to participate in extracurricular activities that enhance leadership, networking, and personal development.

To conclude the programme, students received hands-on training on the University’s digital platforms — the Academic Management System (OSIS) and the Learning Management System (VCampus) — ensuring they are fully prepared to navigate course registration, academic records, and online learning resources efficiently.
Orientation at Christ Temple and Kumasi Campuses
As part of efforts to ensure inclusivity across all locations, freshmen at the Christ Temple Campus and the Kumasi Campus will hold their Orientation Programme on Friday, 20th February 2026. These sessions will mirror the key thematic areas delivered at the main campus, ensuring that students across all campuses receive the same comprehensive introduction to academic life, student services, leadership opportunities, and digital learning systems.
A Strong Start to a Promising Journey
The 2025/2026 Orientation Programme successfully provided freshmen with clarity, confidence, and a sense of belonging. Beyond academic preparation, the programme reinforced Central University’s commitment to nurturing well-rounded graduates equipped for leadership, service, and global impact.
