Central University Receives GTEC Accreditation to Offer PhD in Finance and Three DBA Programmes
Accra, Ghana – 6th February, 2026.
Central University (CU) has received accreditation from the Ghana Tertiary Education Commission (GTEC) to introduce a Doctor of Philosophy (PhD) in Finance and three Doctor of Business Administration (DBA) programmes, beginning in the 2025/2026 Academic Year.
The newly approved three-year DBA programmes offer specialisations in:
- Financial & Corporate Governance
- Strategic Leadership & Organisational Transformation
- Digital Business & Marketing Innovation
This milestone marks a significant expansion of the University’s postgraduate and doctoral portfolio and reflects CU’s ongoing commitment to delivering market-driven, future-focused education.
The introduction of these programmes responds to growing national and global demand for advanced, research-oriented doctoral qualifications tailored to senior leadership, consulting, policy, and academic careers. Developed through rigorous academic planning and industry engagement, the programmes are designed to equip professionals with cutting-edge analytical, leadership, and research competencies.
Targeted at experienced professionals, executives, consultants, and academics, the PhD in Finance and DBA programmes aim to build high-level expertise in strategic decision-making, regulatory frameworks, digital transformation, and organisational change across key sectors. These include financial services, banking and fintech, management consulting, technology and IT services, healthcare, manufacturing and supply chain, government and public sector, education, retail and hospitality.
The programmes will be delivered through flexible learning formats to accommodate working professionals and will be open to both local and international applicants.
With the addition of the PhD in Finance and DBA programmes, Central University has expanded its academic offerings from 41 to 58 programmes since 2020 — further consolidating its position as a forward-looking institution committed to national development and global impact.
