The Central University Library was set up to provide the informational and research needs of the University community. Knowledge is said to connote power, and the mission of a library is to package this knowledge in a way that can be easily accessible to support teaching, learning and research,. In line with the Vision of the University to raise transformational leaders, the Library provides accurate, current, relevant and timely information to empower users. The Library presently has a staff strength of Twenty-Four (24), made up of 9 professionals, 13 para professionals and 2 others.
A higher percentage of the library’s collection is funded from the University’s budget. However, the Library receives donations from donors both in Ghana and abroad. It also has E-Journals and Pro Quest E-books by the University’s membership to the Consortium for Academic and Research Libraries in Ghana (CARLIGH). The Library has an automated catalogue powered by the Koha Library Management System.
Central University currently has Nine (9) libraries, stocking a hybrid collection covering all programmes being run at the various campuses. The libraries are as follows:
