Dr. Hannah Oparebea Acquah

Dr. Acquah is a distinguished nurse academic and has plethora of clinical expertise and research in Health Policy, Leadership, and Management. She is deeply committed to the professional growth of Health Students, Faculty Members and Staff.

Dr. Acquah served as the immediate past Rector of the Ghana College of Nurses and Midwives. She has several publications to her credit in reputable journals.

She specialises in Health Policy, Leadership, and Management and is recognised for her commitment to the professional development of health faculty and students. Her background includes extensive clinical practice and research in nursing education and practice.

She has been involved in international dialogues regarding the ethical migration and recruitment of nurses, participating in roundtable reports with organisations like the Ghanaian-Diaspora Nursing Alliance (G-DNA). In March 2019, she was inaugurated as a member of the College of Nursing and Midwives Board by the Minister for Health.

Before joining Central University, she served as the Rector of GCNM. During her tenure (ending in early 2025), she advocated for specialist postgraduate education for nurses and midwives to achieve universal health coverage in Ghana.

Dr. Acquah has authored numerous publications in reputable journals focusing on nursing leadership and health policy.
