Central University Participates in Erasmus+ International Staff Week in Türkiye

As part of its commitment to strengthening international collaborations and academic mobility, Central University is participating in the Erasmus+ Programme at Kastamonu University in Türkiye. This edition of the Erasmus+ KA171 Staff Mobility Programme, being held from October 13 to 17, 2025, brings together 35 participants from 19 countries for a week of teaching, training, and cultural exchange.

Participating countries include South Africa, Egypt, the Philippines, Moldova, Jamaica, Germany, Azerbaijan, Georgia, Ethiopia, Ukraine, Kosovo, Palestine, Nigeria, Ghana, Albania, Nepal, Kenya, Indonesia, and Algeria—making this a truly global event hosted in the scenic and historically rich city of Kastamonu.

Representing Central University at International Staff Week under the Erasmus+ KA171 Staff Mobility for Teaching initiative in Türkiye is Mr. John Antwi Apenteng, a Senior Lecturer and Head of the Department of Pharmacy Practice at the School of Pharmacy. This EU-funded programme aims to promote cross-border academic cooperation, innovation, and intercultural dialogue among higher education institutions worldwide.

Throughout the week-long engagement, Mr. Apenteng is delivering lectures on key public health topics, including:

  • Ghana’s Public Health System
  • Immunization and Vaccination
  • Infection Prevention and Control
  • Antimicrobial Stewardship

These sessions are designed not only to share Ghana’s health system practices but also to foster cross-cultural learning and academic discourse with faculty and students at Kastamonu University.

The ongoing partnership between Central University and Kastamonu University is underpinned by a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) that emphasizes joint research, academic mobility, and cultural exchange. This collaboration directly supports Central University’s 5-Year Strategic Plan, which prioritizes the repositioning of the University’s internationalization objectives and the expansion of its global academic presence.

In addition to academic activities, participants will engage in various cultural and social events designed to introduce them to Turkish and Kastamonu heritage, further enriching the overall exchange experience.

The International Programmes Office remains committed to creating more opportunities for staff and students to engage in transformative international experiences that contribute to academic excellence and global citizenship.
