As part of ongoing efforts to strengthen institutional ties with key stakeholders, the Vice-Chancellor of Central University, Prof. Kwasi Dartey-Baah, together with members of Senior Management, paid a courtesy call on Nene Tetteh Waka III, Paramount Chief of the Prampram Traditional Area, on Monday, 6th October 2025.

The visit marked a significant gesture of goodwill and reaffirmed the University’s commitment to nurturing meaningful relationships with the traditional custodians of the land that hosts its Miotso campus.
Led by the Vice-Chancellor, the delegation was warmly received by Nene Waka III and members of the Prampram Traditional Council. The visit provided an opportunity for the University to formally introduce Prof. Dartey-Baah to the traditional leadership following his recent appointment as Vice-Chancellor, and to engage in discussions centred on collaboration, community development, and shared responsibility.

In a spirit of mutual respect and partnership, the University Management engaged Nene Waka III in a candid and forward-looking conversation on matters of mutual interest. Discussions highlighted the historical and ongoing relationship between Central University and the Prampram Traditional Council, as well as future opportunities for deepened collaboration in areas such as education, youth development, and land use planning.
Prof. Dartey-Baah reiterated Central University’s appreciation for the support of the Traditional Council, emphasising that the University not only operate within the community but sees itself as an integral part of it.

“This visit is not just a formality—it is a reflection of our deep respect for traditional authority and recognition of the vital role you play in shaping the future of this community and by extension, our University,” Prof. Dartey-Baah noted.
He further assured the Paramount Chief of the University’s dedication to being a responsible community partner, aligned with its values of faith, integrity, and excellence.
In his response, Nene Tetteh Waka III expressed heartfelt appreciation to the University leadership for the visit and congratulated Prof. Dartey-Baah on his appointment. He applauded the University’s respect for traditional institutions and encouraged continued engagement to ensure that development is inclusive and beneficial to both the University and the broader Prampram community.

During the visit, the University’s management formally invited Nene Tetteh Waka III and the Prampram Traditional Council to the upcoming Investiture Ceremony of Prof. Kwasi Dartey-Baah, scheduled to take place on Wednesday, 22nd October 2025. The invitation symbolised the University’s desire to include the Traditional Council in significant institutional milestones and to celebrate leadership transitions in unity.
The visit ended with a reaffirmation of the shared values that bind the University and the Traditional Council—respect, collaboration, and a commitment to community growth.

The Central University delegation, led by Prof. Dartey-Baah, included Prof. Stephen Abenney-Mickson, Pro Vice-Chancellor; Mrs. Lily Nutakor, Registrar; Mr. Peter Karbo, Student Recruitment Officer; Ms. Cynthia Adjei, University Exams Officer; and Mr. Clement Siaw, Personal Assistant to the Vice-Chancellor.

The courtesy call forms part of Prof. Dartey-Baah’s ongoing familiarisation and engagement tour as Vice-Chancellor, which includes visits to various campuses and community stakeholders. It aligns with his broader vision of inclusive leadership, stakeholder engagement, and institutional transformation that places community, collaboration, and culture at the heart of Central University’s development. As Central University continues to grow as a beacon of excellence in higher education, it does so firmly grounded in the respect for its roots, partnerships, and the communities that make its mission possible.
