As part of his ongoing familiarisation tour across Central University’s campuses, the newly appointed Vice-Chancellor, Prof. Kwasi Dartey-Baah, undertook a strategic visit to the Kumasi Campus and paid a courtesy call on Rev. Ransford Obeng, General Overseer of the Calvary Charismatic Centre (CCC), on Friday, 19th September 2025.
This visit underscores the Vice-Chancellor’s commitment to inclusive leadership, stakeholder engagement, and strengthening the collaborative foundations that have propelled Central University’s growth over the years.

The University Management team, led by Prof. Dartey-Baah, was warmly received by Rev. Ransford Obeng at his office at CCC, Ayigya, Kumasi, the home of Central University’s Kumasi Campus.

The delegation formally introduced the Vice-Chancellor to the revered church leader and expressed the University’s heartfelt appreciation for CCC’s unwavering support. Over the years, the partnership between Central University and CCC has provided a stable foundation for the Kumasi Campus, facilitating a conducive environment for academic excellence and holistic student development.
In his welcome remarks, Rev. Obeng lauded the University for being “very good tenants,” commending the enduring and respectful relationship between CCC and the University. He reaffirmed the church’s continued commitment to supporting Central University’s mission of training virtuous and transformational leaders through faith-based and quality education.

Prof. Dartey-Baah, in turn, expressed profound gratitude to Rev. Obeng—who also serves as a member of the University Council—for his invaluable support. He emphasized the University’s intention to deepen the partnership with CCC and explore new avenues of collaboration that would enhance the student experience and foster further institutional growth.
“I am truly honoured by the warm welcome and the strong partnership that exists between Central University and CCC. We are eager to build on this relationship to expand opportunities and improve our impact in the Ashanti Region and beyond,” Prof. Dartey-Baah stated.

The visit concluded with a mutual reaffirmation of commitment to shared values of excellence, faith, and integrity.
Engagement with Kumasi Campus Community
Following the courtesy call, the Vice-Chancellor and his team proceeded to the Kumasi Campus, where they engaged directly with faculty, administrative staff, and students. The visit aimed at fostering deeper understanding of the campus’s unique challenges, opportunities, and development prospects.
Prof. Dartey-Baah held interactive sessions with leadership and staff, listening attentively to their aspirations and concerns. He reiterated his administration’s dedication to creating a supportive academic and operational environment that aligns with the University’s mission of nurturing a vibrant academic community.
Students also welcomed the opportunity to meet the Vice-Chancellor, who assured them of his resolve to prioritise student welfare, infrastructure development, and academic innovation across all campuses.

The Kumasi Campus visit forms part of a broader agenda by Prof. Dartey-Baah to lead with accessibility, transparency, and collaboration. His approach continues to be well-received across the University community as a refreshing and forward-looking leadership style.
