As part of the strategic agenda to strengthen partnerships with key industry stakeholders, Management and Senior officers of Central University (CU), on Thursday, 18th September 2025, paid a working visit to Atlantic Lifesciences Limited, Ghana’s leading sterile pharmaceutical manufacturing company.

Led by the Vice-Chancellor, Prof. Kwasi Dartey-Baah, the University delegation explored avenues for deeper collaboration in industrial training, research, program development, and innovation. The visit also served to reaffirm Central University’s long-standing commitment to experiential learning for students, especially those in the School of Pharmacy.
Over the past three years, Central University has partnered with Atlantic Lifesciences to provide industrial attachment opportunities for Pharmacy students, giving them hands-on experience in sterile manufacturing practices, pharmaceutical production, and quality assurance systems.

During the visit, the CU delegation was received by the executive leadership of Atlantic Lifesciences, including the Chief Executive Officer, Mr. Dhananjay Tripathi, Chief Operating Officer, Mr. David Klutse, Technical Director, Dr. Khubchandani and Quality Assurance Manager, Mr. Smart Bediako. The team led the CU officials on an extensive facility tour and presented an overview of the company’s strategic operations, investment milestones, and future expansion plans.

In his remarks, Vice-Chancellor Prof. Kwasi Dartey-Baah expressed appreciation for the long-standing partnership and highlighted opportunities for future collaboration. He emphasized areas such as:

- Consultancy and industry-based projects
- Grantsmanship and academic exchange initiatives

He noted that such collaborations align with Central University’s mission of nurturing a vibrant academic community that blends theory with practice and supports students to become transformational leaders in their fields.

One of the highlights of the visit was an operational tour of the Small Volume Parenterals unit, led by Mr. Emmanuel Osew Asante, a proud alumnus of Central University’s 2020 graduating class from the School of Pharmacy. Now serving as a Production Pharmacist at Atlantic, Mr. Osew’s leadership and expertise underscored the University’s impact on the pharmaceutical sector and its commitment to producing industry-ready graduates.

Students from the School of Pharmacy currently on experiential attachment at Atlantic were visibly excited by the visit of the University’s Management. Their enthusiasm reflected the value of seeing leadership support in the environments where they apply their academic knowledge to real-world challenges.
