
On August 7, 2025, Central University hosted a special event at the Miotso Campus to honour the distinguished statesman, lawyer, academic, and international diplomat, Nana Dr. S.K.B. Asante, also known as Nana Susubiribiri Krobea Asante, Paramount Chief of Asokore.
The event marked the official outdooring of a scholarly work titled Global Imperatives: Law and Development, Reflections of Nana Dr. S.K.B. Asante. The 776-page volume is a curated collection of 25 articles written by Nana Asante over his illustrious career. Spanning key areas such as Global Investments and Transnational Corporations, International Business Transactions, General Ghana Law, and Public Law and Governance, the book offers valuable insights into the intersections of law, policy, and development in both local and global contexts.

Edited by celebrated writer Kofi Akpabli, the book is thoughtfully structured into four sections, each introduced by subject-area commentaries from renowned experts:
- Prof. Francis Botchway (Global Investments)
- Dr. Josiah Quansah (International Business Transactions)
- Dr. Bernadette Adjei (Ghana Law)
- Maame Ofewaah Sarpong (Governance and Public Law)
The foreword was penned by Prof. Bill Buenar Puplampu, Vice Chancellor of Central University, who lauded Nana Asante’s lifelong contributions to legal scholarship and national development.
In an address, Prof. Puplampu announced the Institutionalization of the “Nana S.K.B. Asante Prize”, an annual award to be presented to the Best Law Student at Central University. The prize aims to inspire academic excellence and reflect the legacy of integrity, scholarship, and public service embodied by Nana Asante.
