Central University has taken a bold step toward deepening regional academic cooperation by signing a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) with the Catholic University of West Africa – University Unit in Togo (UCAO-UUT). The ceremony took place on Tuesday, July 22, 2025, at Central University’s Miotso campus, bringing together leadership from both institutions to formalize a partnership focused on academic exchange, joint research, and cultural collaboration.

The three-member delegation from UCAO-UUT was led by the Secretary General, representing Reverend Father Dr. Augustin Dzifa Otchokpo, President of UCAO-UUT, and included the Director of Research and the Director of Finance and Administration. They were warmly received by Central University’s team, comprising Professor Stephen Abenney-Mickson, Pro Vice Chancellor; Dr. Ransford Antwi, Dean of the Faculty of Arts and Social Sciences; and Dr. Kingsford Kissi Mireku, Head of the International Programmes Office.
The MoU outlines collaboration in several key areas, including faculty and student exchanges, joint research projects, shared academic programs, and the sharing of administrative best practices.

Speaking at the event, Professor Abenney-Mickson emphasized the importance of cross-border partnerships in enhancing academic excellence and innovation. The UCAO-UUT delegation expressed enthusiasm about the shared vision and the opportunities this partnership will unlock for both students and faculty.

The visit concluded with an engaging tour of the Miotso campus, offering the delegation a closer look at Central University’s facilities and academic environment.
