We are seeking an experienced and highly motivated Farm Manager to oversee
and drive all operational aspects of our farm’s activities.
KEY RESPONSIBILITIES:
1.Operational Planning and Supervision
Develop comprehensive monthly and weekly plans for farm operations,
covering nursery management, planting schedules, pest control, irrigation,
and harvesting.
Allocate tasks to activity-based teams, ensuring clear communication of
responsibilities and deadlines.
Plan, supervise, and manage all agronomic activities related to vegetables
(e.g., cucumber, garden eggs, pepper) and other crops such as plantains and
pawpaw.
Monitor field operations closely, ensuring compliance with set agricultural
practices, schedules, and quality standards.
Implement and manage contracts for outsourced labour or services, ensuring
accountability and cost control.
- Farm Resource Management
Manage the distribution, usage, and replacement of tools, machines, and
equipment to ensure operational efficiency.
Maintain an accurate inventory of all farm resources, including tools, inputs
(e.g., seeds, fertilizers, pesticides), and harvested produce.
Recommend and oversee the procurement of essential tools, equipment, and
materials to support farm activities.

ROLE SUMMARY:
The Farm Manager will lead the day-to-day operations of Eco-Bounty Farms with
a strong focus on planning, supervision, record-keeping, and team
management. This role is integral to ensuring efficient production, high-quality
yields, and adherence to safety standards. - Record-Keeping and Reporting
Maintain detailed records of all farming activities, including planting dates, input application, pest
control measures, labour usage, and yields.
Prepare and submit weekly and monthly reports detailing progress, costs, and challenges
encountered during farm operations.
Use records to evaluate productivity, identify inefficiencies, and recommend improvements for future
planning. - Staff Management and Development
Oversee the recruitment, orientation, and training of new field workers to ensure they are wellintegrated into the farm’s operations.
Provide ongoing training to unit heads and workers, focusing on best practices in vegetable farming,
safety protocols, and equipment handling.
Foster a disciplined, motivated, and productive workforce by promoting a positive work environment
and addressing on-site disciplinary issues promptly.
Ensure proper delegation and succession planning within the team to maintain operational continuity. - Safety and Compliance
Ensure all workers are provided with appropriate tools, safe transportation, and Personal Protective
Equipment (PPE) for their tasks.
Enforce strict adherence to safe operating procedures and farm safety standards.
Monitor and manage environmental impacts by adopting sustainable farming practices. - Vegetable Crop Management
Utilize expertise in vegetable farming to maximize the yield and quality of crops like cucumbers,
garden eggs, and peppers.
Implement pest and disease management strategies specific to vegetables, ensuring timely
application of control measures.
Oversee the preparation of nurseries for seedlings and manage transplanting schedules to align with
optimal growing conditions.
Monitor crop growth, identifying and addressing any issues such as nutrient deficiencies, pests, or
diseases. - Stakeholder Engagement
Build and maintain strong relationships with relevant stakeholders, including suppliers, buyers, and
local community leaders, to ensure smooth farm operations.
Collaborate with management to align farm activities with market demands and business goals.

QUALIFICATIONS AND REQUIREMENTS
The ideal candidate should possess:
A degree or diploma in Agriculture, Agronomy, Farm Management, or a related field.
Minimum of 5 years’ experience managing vegetable farms or similar agricultural operations.
Proven expertise in managing vegetable crops such as cucumbers, garden eggs, and peppers.
Demonstrated experience managing farmland ranging from 30 to 50 acres.
Strong leadership and team management skills, with experience supervising diverse farm workers.
Excellent organizational and planning abilities to manage multiple tasks and priorities.
Proficiency in record-keeping and report preparation, with attention to detail.
Knowledge of modern agricultural practices, pest control strategies, and irrigation systems.
Ability to work effectively under pressure and meet deadlines in a dynamic farm environment.
Strong communication and interpersonal skills to engage with staff, stakeholders, and management.
WORKING HOURS:
The position requires commitment to a six-day workweek, with work hours adjusted to accommodate
the seasonal nature of farm activities.
