A reputable and leading financial institution in Ghana is seeking for qualified personnel to
fill the above position:
Key Responsibilities:

  • To vet title documents, draft recitals and engross debentures.
  • Review and Draft Agreements.
  • Liaise with Credit Risk Management to prepare and review agreements with respect to
    Customers facilities.
  • Undertake legal research and analysis; prepare legal opinions, reports,and
    correspondence.
  • Liaise with external solicitors on cases referred.
  • Perform first review of conditions precedent and drawdown requests.
  • Update of status of cases against the Bank which have been referred to External Solicitors.
  • Prepare periodic case studies (reports) indicating lessons learned.
  • Keep abreast with relevant developments in relation to laws on Companies and the Banking
    Industry.
  • Represent the legal department on Disciplinary Committee.
  • Provide support as appropriate to General Manager, Legal Department
  • Provide Legal advice on labour related issues including labour contract negotiations.
  • Attend meetings of the MART Board and Trustees of UMB Provident Fund; take minutes and
    follow up on matters arising therefrom.
    Requirements:
  • Minimum of Barrister at Law with at least 3 years’ experience post qualification.
  • Good knowledge in Court rules and procedures
  • Good knowledge and understanding of banking operations and practice.
  • Current with case law with particular reference to banking and labour laws/practices.
  • Good negotiation skills.
  • Good communication (verbal/written) skills.
  • Computer literacy
