ABOUT THE CENTRAL BUSINESS SCHOOL

Central Business School (CBS) is a premier faculty of Central University, Ghana, dedicated to shaping ethical, innovative, and transformational business leaders. Originally established in 1998 as the School of Business Management and Administration (SBMA), Central Business School (CBS) evolved through strategic academic development and was renamed in 2011 following the merger with the Graduate School of Business.

Central Business School (CBS) offers a wide range of undergraduate and postgraduate programs across departments such as Accounting, Finance, Human Resource Management, Marketing, Entrepreneurship, Management Studies and Project Management. These programs are designed to be market-driven, professional, and practice-oriented, aligning with the needs of academia, industry, and government.

The school’s mission is to contribute meaningfully to Ghana’s human capital development by nurturing a vibrant academic community that promotes learning, research, and service. Central Business School (CBS) emphasizes character formation, critical thinking, and community engagement, reflecting the broader values of Central University: Faith, Integrity, and Excellence. PRACTICAL TRAINING SPACES AND RESEARCH INFRASTRUCTURE

The Central University Research Library is set up to provide the informational and research needs of the University community. Knowledge is said to connote power, and the mission of our research library is to package this knowledge in a way that can be easily accessible to support teaching, learning and research. In line with the Vision of the University to raise transformational leaders, the library provides accurate, current, relevant and timely information to empower users for their research and study.

The library has E-Journals and ProQuest E-books through the University’s membership to the Consortium for Academic and Research Libraries in Ghana (CARLIGH). The library has an automated catalogue powered by the Koha Library Management System.
