CU INTER-SCHOOLS AND FACULTIES SOCCER LEAGUE ENDS IN STYLE

The Sports Unit of the University recently held a colourful event at the Trinity Hall, Miotso where medals and trophies were presented to participants and winners of the just ended Inter-School and Faculty Soccer League for the 2022/2023 academic year. Present at the ceremony to present the medals and trophies to the wining team and individuals were the Pro Vice Chancellor, Prof. John Ofosu Anim; Dean of School of Engineering and Technology, Prof. Stephen Abenney-Mickson; the Dean of Students, Dr. Gloria-Clarissa Dzeha; and the Chaplain, Dr. Fred Brako.

The CU Inter-School and Faculty Soccer League was initiated in the 2021/2022 after the long draining and stressful period of the Covid-19 pandemic period by the University’s Sports Unit headed by WOI Rtd Sosu Daniel in collaboration with the office of the Dean of Students. Among others, the league was to create a healthy competition amongst the Central University Schools and Faculties and promote liveliness on campus through sports and entertainment.

The tournament featured soccer teams from the schools of Medicine and Health Sciences, Pharmacy, Engineering and Technology, Architecture and Design, Central Business School, the Faculty of Law and the Faculty of Arts and Social Sciences. The Freshers’ FC which comprised of freshmen from the various schools competed in the tournament and emerged winners.
