MR. ERNEST SOMUA-WIAFE

Mr. Somua-Wiafe is a highly accomplished Statistician with a robust mathematical background, specialising in quantitative research. He holds a Master of Philosophy in Statistics from the University of Ghana, Legon, and graduated with First Class Honours in Mathematics from the University of Mines and Technology, Tarkwa. Since 2018, he has actively engaged in teaching and lecturing on various quantitative courses. Currently pursuing a PhD in Statistics at the University of Ghana, Legon, Mr. Somua-Wiafe is in the advanced stages of his research. His expertise lies in data analysis, and he excels in programming statistical software such as R-Studio, Stata, SAS, and SPSS. Additionally, he possesses knowledge of research tools like LaTeX and the Microsoft Office Suite.

Research Interest: Mr. Somua-Wiafe’s research interests span across several areas, including the application of Generalised Linear Mixed Models (GLMMs) and Bayesian sampling techniques, specifically focusing on Markov Chain Monte Carlo (MCMC), Stan, and Integrated Nested Laplace Approximations (INLA). He also demonstrates a keen interest in exploring Spatial Econometrics models, as well as Spatial and Spatiotemporal modelling.
