14 Central University Alumni Inducted As Professional Architects In Ghana And Nigeria


At the 25th Induction Ceremony of the Architects Registration Council (ARC), held in collaboration with the Ghana Institute of Architects (GIA), eleven alumni from Central University’s School of Architecture and Design were formally inducted as registered architects.

The ceremony took place on Tuesday, 28th October 2025, at the Ghana Shippers’ House, Ridge – Accra, under the theme: “Impact of Illegal Mining (Galamsey) Menace on Housing Delivery and Water Resources in Ghana.”

In his opening and welcoming address, Arc. Dr. Emmanuel Eyiah-Botwe, Registrar of the Architects Registration Council (ARC), expressed gratitude to all invited guests and the families of the inductees for sharing in the memorable occasion. He commended the inductees for their perseverance and dedication to the profession, encouraging them to uphold the highest standards of integrity and excellence in practice.

This year’s induction saw 43 newly admitted architects receiving their professional certification, with Central University proudly contributing 10 of them: Arc. Cyril Eustace Korley, Arc. KwekuOware, Arc. Lady Kukua Quarshie (Mrs), Arc. Yaa Serwaa Bonnah, Arc. Agbo Francis Selasi, Arc. Andrews Adu Baiden, Arc. Justin C. Dike, Arc. Carlon N.A. Adjetey Kraku, Arc. Angelo Nana Ekow Frans, Arc. Kuukuwa Deheer and Arc. Emmanuel Kekeli Kofi Nutsukpo.

The event was attended by several distinguished guests, including Hon. Kenneth Gilbert Adjei,Minister for Works, Housing and Water Resources, was billed to attend as Special Guest of Honour;Hon. Gizella Tetteh Agbotui, Deputy Minister for Works, Housing and Water Resources, who served as Guest of Honour. Hon. Kwame Governs Agbodza, Minister for Roads and Highways, delivered the Keynote Addresshighlighting the urgent need for sustainable and environmentally responsible practices in the built environment. 

Present at the ceremony to congratulate and support the Central University inductees was Ms. Ninnette Quaofio, Vice Dean of the School of Architecture and Design (SADe). Her presence underscored the School’s commitment to celebrating the professional milestones of its alumni and fostering strong connections between current students and practicing architects.

The Architects Registration Council (ARC), established under the Architects Act 1969 (NLCD 357), regulates the practice of architecture in Ghana and ensures the highest standards of professional conduct and competence.

Earlier this month (October), three of our School of Architecture and Design alumni were also successfully inducted as Chartered Architects of the Nigerian Institute of Architects: Arc. EdiomoBassey Udoh MNIA, Arc. Efemena Egube MNIA, and Arc. Lois Emma-Eze MNIA. These alumniare the first international students who studied Architecture at Central University to achieve this remarkable milestone — a proud moment for our community and a testament to the quality of training we provide.

Central University’s School of Architecture and Design continues to demonstrate leadership in nurturing a new generation of architects who combine technical expertise, ethical grounding, and creative vision to contribute to Ghana’s sustainable development.
